An evening of spoken word and music with the legendary jazz radio broadcaster Ron Della Chiesa will take place on Thursday February 9th at 7:00pm. The event will take place in the recently opened eclectic bookstore The Book Shack located in the Kingston mall.
This FREE event will also include an "All That Jazz" performance with Kenny Wenzel and guest appearance by nine time Boston Music Award Winner, Jazz vocalist Rebecca Parris. Ron Della Chiesa is a Boston area radio personality. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, he was taken by his father to jazz and Boston Symphony Orchestra concerts in the early 1950s, and developed an ear for both genres. His commentaries on WGBH-FM radio for the Boston Symphony are broadcast on Friday afternoons. These broadcasts as well as his commentary at the Sunday Tanglewood Festival in the summertime are informed by his life-long attendance of the orchestra, dating back to conductors Charles Münch and Erich Leinsdorf. Ron will be signing his book and answering questions after the show.
