Sacred Heart Remembers 9-11 Victim & Alum w/golf event

Monday, June 20th, Sacred Heart High School will honor the memory of alumnus and Kingston resident William Christopher Hunt, Class of 1987 who died at the World Trade Towers in New York City, September 11, 2001. Since that time, Sacred Heart has honored Hunt at its annual Golf Clasic with proceeds benefiting his memorial scholarship fund.  

In addition to scholarships, the proceeds will also benefit the Hunt Sports Leadership Program. The program is designed to provide sports skills development and leadership skills for boys and girls ages 9 through 11. In the 10 years since 9-11, Sacred Heart has awarded multiple scholarships to college bound students. The first recipient is currently finishing medical school at Georgetown University. Bill Hunt was an active member of the Sacred Heart community. Active in athletics, in particular basketball, he went on to study at Bridgewater State College where he also starred on their basketball and rugby teams. Bill worked in New York City in Building #2 of the World Trade for EuroBrokers. He was a Bond Manager and Vice President for the firm. At the time of his death, his wife and their young daughter lived in Connecticut. This year's Sacred Heart Golf Classic will be held at Halifax Country Club, Monday, June 20, at  1:30 p.m. shotgun and will be an 18-hole scramble format. The tournament is open to the public and includes registration gift, golf, cart, lunch, prizes and a terrific post-golf cocktail party sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors. Tournament sponsorships are available and raffle prizes and donations are welcome. 

The field is limited to 144 players. Player registration id $140 per golfer. Post Golf Party Tickets are $30. To register or to donate a prize or make a personal contribution to the William C.
