PROJECT ARTS FREE CONCERTS 6:30 - 9:30 PM, Pilgrim Memorial Park, Plymouth MA Wednesday, 6:30 - 9:30 PMThe Reminisants have been entertaining audiences of all ages throughout New England since 1973.
Although primarily categorized as an Oldies act, the band's repertoire features dance music that appeals to a variety of musical tastes across several generations. The Reminisants have performed for just about every type of function imaginable including corporate functions, fundraisers, comedy nights, senior ...citizen events, birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings, anniversaries, harbor and ocean cruises, concerts and parades. Each year they have entertained on a weeklong cruise to Bermuda (on Norwegian Cruise Lines) and performed in bermuda on the island of St. George's Heritage Day Festival. Their routines are a favorite at car shows and rallies sponsored by national and regional car clubs and auto dealers. Music from the 1950's thru 1990's.
Β During the summer months, the band performs at over 45 open-air concerts and festivals that are free to the public, such as Meadowbrook Arena in Gilford, NH, Blue Ocean Hall, Salisbury MA, The Big E in Springfield, Twin River Casino, RI, "Autumnfest" in Woonsocket, RI, the Italian Feasts of Boston's North End, Newton Italian Feast, Feast of 3 Saints in Lawrence, and New England's most popular Seafood Festivals. In addition, the band entertains regularly on the Seashell Stage at Hampton Beach. They also perform at restaurants and nightclubs such as Polcari's in Saugus, The Village Green Danvers, Foxwoods Resort & Casino Lounge, The Sandbar Grill Taunton, The Spear Post Beverly, The Stadium Theatre, R.I..Β The Reminisants have also been actively involved in raising funds for many local charities including a Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Boys' and Girls' Clubs, Cystic Fibrosis, The National Liver Foundation and The Doug Flutie Jr. Autistic Foundation each year.
The Reminisants have performed with many of the legends of Rock N' Roll such as The Beach Boys, Felix Cavaliere with his Rascals, The Crystals, Danny & the Juniors, BJ Thomas, Johnny Rivers, Chubby Checker, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Bill Haley's Comets, Shirley Reeves of the Shirelles, Herb Reed's Platters, The Belmonts, The Marvellettes, The Tokens, The Contours, Charlie Thomas' Drifters, Norman Wright's Del Vikings, Gary Lewis & The Playboy's, Bobby Lewis, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, Grandfunk Railroad, Poco and country music stars, Gretchen Wilson, Josh Turner, and Patty Loveless. The Reminisants have had the privilege of peforming several times with Wrentham, MA's own Ayla Brown of American Idol fame.
The band was formed in 1973. Dom "Rocky" Viscione, vocalist/guitar, co-founded the band with lead singer and high school best-friend Mike "Teen Angel" Joyal. The act over the years has matured to the current six-man compliment. Dom's wit and lyric ability is unmatched anywhere while Mike really knows how to handle an audience. Dom is putting down his guitar playing to join Mike as our 2 front Men. Look for even more refreshing entertainment from the dynamic duo! The Reminisants promise to keep you entertained.
Β Featured keyboard player and accomplished musician, Bob Spitaleri, provides creative orchestrations distinctive to the group's sound. Bob has performed in some of the most popular bands in New England. As a member of "Shaboom", Bob performed throughout the northeast in the enormously well received Musical Tribute to Roy Orbison with Pat Benti. He has also opened for nationally known legends as The Righteous Brothers, Roy Orbison, Johnny Rivers, James Montgomery and Herb Reed's Platters, to name a few. Bob was also a member and partner for many years with one of Boston's best well knowned dance bands, The Godsons.
Peter Veneto, the drummer & vocals for The Reminisants', worked for many years with keyboard player, Bob Spitaleri, in The Godsons. He also toured with the popular Band in Boston in the 70's. Pete also has opened for legends such as, Roy Orbison, Herb Reed's Platters and Herman's Hermits. A journeyman musician, Peter provides not only downbeats, tempos and rhythms, but also a refreshing sense of humor and a fifth vocal to the band.
Mark Poulin, a self taught musician & vocalist, plays Guitar, Drums and Bass Guitar. Mark's tributes to John Lennon and Roy Orbison began in the early 90's. He plays his John Lennon show solo and was part of the Beatles tribute band βHELP,β as well as a solo Tribute to Roy Orbison. Mark has played Boston City Hall Plaza, The Hard Rock Cafe, and The Hatch Memorial Shell, opening for such acts as Three Dog Night, The Drifters, Tommy Roe and many others. Mark has filled in for many bands in the area, including ours.
Β Ken Zambello, our new Bass Player & vocalist is a Professor at Berklee College of Music, teaching since 1982. Musical Director for Berklee Commencement Concert, Singer's Showcase, The International Folk Music Festival , The Great American Songbook, and other specialized concerts . Highlights from some of the concerts include arranging and conducting for special guests Steven Tyler, Chaka Khan, Phil Collins, Phillip Bailey, Paula Cole, Susan Tedeschi, Lalah Hathaway, Ben E. King and Livingston Taylor. Professional performer on bass, vocals, keyboards, and acoustic guitar.
Β Arranged and played bass for Jeffrey Osborne and Jennifer Holliday at the Vineyard Vibes Concert series. Performances on bass and keyboards for various classic pop acts such as The Belmonts, The Coasters, The Flamingos, The Teenagers, The Original Drifters, Frankie Ford, and others. Musical Theater pit orchestra work at the North Shore Music Theater and the Stuart Street Playhouse. Composer/arranger of over 100 radio and TV jingles in the New England area. Member of the Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame Voting Group.
Β The Reminisants are proud of their reputation as one of Boston's most enduring and consistent stage acts. The Band averages over 120 performances a year and currently books engagements 6 to 18 months in advance.
