The Book Shack Announces The Writer’s Festival; August 13-19, 2012

Events take place in Hanover & Kingston

Β Β Β Β  Kingston, MA (August 2, 2012)--Β  The power of the written word takes center stage for one week in August as some of the area’s best writers come together to discuss their work and share their literary secrets.

Β Β Β Β  Presented by THE BOOK SHACK, with locations in Kingston & Hanover, MA, The Writer’s Festival will run August 13th through August 19th, kicking off on Monday, August 13 at 7pm at The Book Shack in Kingston with guests Loretta LaRoche and Marianne Leone Copper. There will be a book signing with Loretta & Marianne, a silent auction, and presentation of the β€œPower of the Written Word” award. Admission is $5 and all proceeds will benefit the Kingston Public Library.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

Β Β Β Β Β  A Non Fiction Writers Panel from 7-9pm at The Book Shack in Kingston, featuring noted authors Alberta Sequiera, Susan Trausch, Jim Coogan, Ted Burbank and Joyce Keller Walsh. Admission is free. Prior to the event, from 5-7pm, there will be a workshop with Dawn Christensen on How to Build a Blog. There is a $50 fee.

Wednesday August 15

Β Β Β Β  There will be an Independent Author Panel from 7-9pm at The Book Shack’s Kingston location. 7-9pm. Hosted by Stephanie Blackman, the panel will feature authors Gretchan Pyne, Americo Tulipano, Skip Debrusk, Siobhan Desmond and Kathy Handley. Admission is free. Prior to the event, from 5-7pm, there will be a workshop on How To Get Published, with RiverHaven Books’ owner Stephanie Blackman. There is a $30 fee.

Β Β Β Β  The Kingston Public Library will host The Secrets of Writing with Humor & Inspiration, presented by Loretta LaRoche. There is a $125 fee.

Β Β Β Β  The Book Shack’s Kingston location presents a Romance Author Panel, from 7-9pm. Hosted by Stephanie Blackman, local romance authors Virginia Young, Kevin Symmons, Pam Loewy and Marissa Doyle will discuss their novels. Admission is free.

Β Β Β Β  The Kingston Public Library will host a Suzette Standring Workshop titled Hypnotic Recall Fills the Creative Well, from 7-9pm. There is a $49 fee. And on August 16, The Book Shack’s Hanover Location will feature a book signing with Lynne Griffin, author of Sea Escape.
