
Children of all ages and their families are invited to join us at the , 132 South St., Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. for "This Land is Your Land with Roger Tincknell." As a finale celebration of the program Jen Kaneβs American Reading Adventure, we will enjoy a multi-cultural, multilingual musical journey around the United States from New England to New Orleans, Puerto Rico to Hawaii. The program includes traditional folk songs, legends, tall tales, and dances performed on a variety of instruments including: guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, Puerto Rican cuatro, Russian balalaika, Appalachian mountain dulcimer, Irish bouzouki, Native American flute, Latin percussion, and harmonica.
Land through singing, moving, dancing and playing a variety of Latin and African percussion instruments.
Participants who have completed the Jen Kaneβs American Reading Adventure activites will also receive special recognition. Refreshments will be served.
This program is free. Registration is required and will begin on August 6, 2011.
