Fatal Middleborough Crash: 4 College Students Killed
Authorities identified the five people killed in a wrong-way crash in Middleboro on Interstate 495 Monday.

MIDDLEBOROUGH, MA β Four college students were among the five people killed in a wrong-way crash in Middleborough on Interstate 495 Monday, police said.
Police did not release the names of the victims but instead provided their gender, age, and hometown.
The wrong-way driver was identified as a 31-year-old Fall River woman driving a 2011 Infiniti G37.

Police said she struck a 2003 Mercury Sable head-on. All four college students in the car were killed. They were identified as:
- A 20-year-old Barnstable man
- A 19-year-old Barnstable man
- A 19-year-old Harwich man
- An 18-year-old from West Babylon, N.Y.
All four were students at Massachusetts colleges, police said.

Police said the Fall River woman drove against traffic on Interstate 495 north near Exit 3 in Middleborough when she collided with the Mercury Sable, which police said burst into flames upon impact.
The names of the victims will be released Tuesday.
"We are waiting until tomorrow out of respect for the victimsβ families in this difficult time, and to let next of kin fully notify extended family members," state police said in a statement.
Police said they had not yet figured out why the Fall River woman was driving in the wrong direction.
