Fishing Captain Dies Off Plymouth County
The Coast Guard responded to a distress call near Hull.

HULL, MA — A fishing captain died following a Coast Guard rescue off Hull Tuesday. The crew of a 44-foot lobster boat issued a distress call at about 4:15 p.m. when their captain started displaying stroke-like symptoms, the Coast Guard said in a statement. The crew started CPR.
A response boat arrived at the scene within 10 minutes and used a defibrillator as the captain was transported to an ambulance at Reserve Channel. He was driven to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The captain's name was not released.

"It is always hard to lose a loved one, especially during this time of year, and our hearts go out to the crew and the captain's family," said Coast Guard Lt. John Gustus in a statement.
