Hot Time, Summer in Plymouth
The weather says Summer, but the calendar insists it's still Spring. It's June, and here are some suggestions for a hot summer day.
Ready for the humid, 90-degree weather Plymouth? It seems like its gone from March to July in less than a week. According to the National Weather Service we'll be dealing with temperatures in the mid-90s this afternoon, and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
Here are a few tips to keep cool today:
1. Break out the fans and the air-conditioner. If you can't find that fan, pick up a new one before the summer rush. Check out , at Exit 5, or on Court Street.

2. Cool off with a swim. No backyard pool? Head to in Myles Standish State Forest, or one of the public beachs, , , or jump in the pool at the gym.
3. Load up the family and venture out for the ultimate hot weather snack–ice-cream! With so many ice-cream shops to choose from, you can spread out your tastings over the summer. Start with at Village Landing and enjoy the cool breeze on the Waterfront or in Manomet.

4. Need to get out of your hot, sticky house or apartment? Go to one of the branches on South Street or in for some indoor cooling time, and watch a movie, read a magazine or use the computers. Plus, it's free with your library card!
5. For the 21-plus crowd, cool down with your favorite . With the plethora of , and in town, you have your pick. Check out your local watering hole and enjoy an ice cold Corona or margarita on or in the comfort of the AC. Ahhh. 6. Or you can enjoy the entertainment available in Plymouth. The Plymouth Musicians Union will hold a concert tonight rain or shine at the bandstand on the Waterfront. It's Lady's Night at on Court Street, or attend a lecture by Kim Groggin Garden, who will discuss the history of the Manomet property and the role it has played in the community, together with Jen Friedrich an organic farmer, who will be discussing the Holmes property restoration project.
