Lakeville Woman Killed During Route 140 Taunton Crash

TAUNTON, MA — Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Route 140 in Taunton that took the life of a Lakeville woman Friday. Troopers were sent to the crash at 9:15 p.m. for a report of a two-vehicle crash between a 2005 GMC Envoy SUV and a 2013 Chrysler 200 sedan. The GMC driver, a woman from Plymouth, 33, was traveling north on Route 140 when her vehicle collided with the Chrysler, which was attempting to take a left turn on the southbound side of the road, across the northbound lane, onto Route 24 North.

A passenger in the Chrysler, a 21-year-old woman from Lakeville, Nicole Dondero, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chrysler, an Acushnet man, 22, was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton for treatment of serious injuries.

The woman from Plymouth as well as 35-year-old passenger, a man, who is also from Plymouth, were also taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton for treatment of minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. State Police were assisted on scene by members of the Taunton Police and Fire departments, Brewster Ambulance, and MassDOT.

No charges have been filed.
