Last Minute Summer Ideas for Kids on the South Shore

Still not sure what to do with the kids this summer? Have a week or two waiting for a brainstorm. Here’s an idea, check out your nearby recreation department or community center! Many area youth and community organizations are still accepting registrations for high-quality, camp-like programs for boys and girls aged 5 to 12 and beyond.

Ok, so in this edition of your brain-stormy, aha-moment, your kids get to experiment with science, technology, engineering, and art...sometimes all at the same time. Maybe there will be a few familiar faces from school or the hood! Perhaps even some new friends?

The payback: the best part will be the credit you will give yourself when, at the dinner table, your son or daughter start bubbling about Sir Issac Newton’s Third Law of Motion or asking about the premed program at MIT.
