Lewis Black is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and social commentator. He is best known for his angry, politically-charged comedy routines. Black has appeared on numerous television shows, including The Daily Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Conan O'Brien. He has also released several stand-up specials, including Black on Broadway, Red White & Screwed, and Old Black Man.

Black was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, in 1948. He began his comedy career in the early 1980s, performing in small clubs around New York City. In 1988, he was hired as a writer for The Daily Show. He was the show's "Senior Black Correspondent" for 11 years.

Black has released six stand-up specials for Comedy Central: Black on Broadway (1996), Red, White & Screwed (2000), The Root of All Evil (2003), Black on the Inside (2006), Stark Raving Black (2009), and Old Black Man (2012). He has also appeared in several films, including The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), The Cable Guy (1996), and The Incredibles (2004).
