
You’re on vacation! A sailor would call that being on “liberty.” Visit Battleship Cove during Liberty Week for a hands-on look at life at sea for a Navy sailor. Throughout the week, take part in exciting activities and demonstrations, and see if a sailor’s life is for you.
Occurring all week:
- Orientation film shown every hour: This 22 minute film will give you a flavor of life on a World War II battleship (all day)
- Hunt the Rat Scavenger Hunt: Rats have stolen sailors’ jobs! Find them on the battleship (All day)
- Navy Lingo Bingo - 10:00am daily: Learn to speak like a sailor in this fun game of bingo
- Kid’s tour of the battleship - 11:00am daily: Come along on this one-hour tour for children as we explore the battleship and her life at sea
- Sea Bag Inspection Races - 2:30pm daily: Beat the clock to lay out a sailor’s bag for inspection
- Signal Flag Posters - 2:30 pm daily: Write your name in signal flags and design a take-home poster
There also will be special programming each day, including airbrush tattoos from FUN Enterprises on Wednesday, April 22, a visit from the KISS 108 prize van on Thursday, April 23, and a Sea Music Concert on Friday, April 24.
