MASSAGE ENVY SPAS OF NEW ENGLAND RAISES NEARLY $17,000 FOR ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION

On September 17, 2014, Massage Envy Spas in New England donated $10 from every one-hour massage and facial to the Arthritis Foundation. The goal of this one-day national event was to raise funds to find a cure for the 50 million adults and 300,000 children affected by arthritis.

“We are committed to helping the Arthritis Foundation fight this debilitating disease,” said Richard Silva, regional developer of Massage Envy Spas of New England. “Every year, Healing Hands for Arthritis continues to build momentum and we are grateful for all of the support we received across the country.”

During the event, Murad®, Massage Envy Spa’s exclusive skin care partner, also donated 10 percent of product sales to the Arthritis Foundation.

By the year 2030, an estimated 67 million or 25 percent of the projected total adult population will have arthritis. Massage Envy Spa and the Arthritis Foundation share a common understanding about the devastating effects of arthritis on the body, the rising prevalence and the crucial need to raise money for a cure through events like Healing Hands for Arthritis.

Until there is a cure, massage therapy may help relieve and control certain symptoms. Massage therapy can play an important role in alleviating the pain and swelling caused by arthritis, as well as improving flexibility and circulation and reducing stress and anxiety.

In addition to hosting Healing Hands for Arthritis, Massage Envy Spa is a national sponsor of the Arthritis Foundation’s signature event, Arthritis Walk®.
