OCES' Lobster Relocates to Spire Center. #SelfieWithSid Contest Announced
OCES is a sponsor of one of the 29 painted lobsters showcased at Plymouth's Lobster Crawl.

Old Colony Elder Services (OCES), a sponsor of one of the 29 painted lobsters showcased at Plymouth's Lobster Crawl, has announced that their lobster, "Sid" has relocated to the Spire Center for Performing Arts in Plymouth, MA.
Presented by the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, the Plymouth Lobster Crawl is a major public arts event on display throughout the waterfront, downtown and Plymouth Community. OCES' lobster Sid has been moved from Nelson Park and will reside year-round in front of the Spire Center for Performing Arts, located at 25 1/2 Court Street in Plymouth.
In celebration of Sid's new location, OCES is holding a #SelfieWithSid Contest on their Facebook page, found at https://www.facebook.com/OCESMA. Simply take a photo of yourself with OCES' lobster on its perch in front of the Spire Center, then post that photo (1MB or less) with the hashtag #SelfieWithSid on OCES' Facebook page.
Contestants must also email their picture to contest@ocesma.org with their full name, email address or phone number so that OCES can contact prizewinners directly.
The selfie with the most Facebook likes wins First Prize of a $230 Visa gift card - $10 for each of the 23 communities that OCES serves. The OCES team will also select three additional photos that they judge to be the most fun and creative, and will award three “Sid-Sensational” Visa gift card prizes of $50 each.

Sid was custom-designed and hand-painted by Samantha Shields, a talented local artist, U.S. Air Force veteran and Plymouth resident. The name Sid stands for "Supporting Independence and Dignity" and reflects OCES' mission statement, which is "to support the independence and dignity of elders and people with disabilities by providing essential information and services that promote healthy and safe living."

The Plymouth Lobster Crawl features 29 unique structures measuring five feet tall. The fiberglass structures are sponsored by local businesses and organizations; each is custom designed and hand painted by local artists.
