Onset Harbor Beaches Closed Due to Sewage Spillage
All beaches within Onset Harbor are closed to swimming until further notice.
Beaches in and around Onset Harbor have been closed after sewage spilled into the bay at around 10:30am Monday morning, according to Wareham Harbormaster Garry Buckminster.
A sewer overflow occurred on Independence Lane in Onset, where a currently undetermined amount of sewage poured into the bay through a storm drain.
At this time, all beaches within Onset Harbor are closed for swimming until further notice. The beaches include Sunset Cove, Agawam Beach, Shell Point Bay, Onset Beach, East River, Broad Cove, and Muddy Cove.
