Otter at Home in a Manomet Bog
An otter makes itself available known to a group of cranberry bog workers in Manomet.
YouTube user using the nom de plume SlackingQuahog, shot this video of an otter in a pond in Manomet.
"On a cutting trip to a cranberry bog in Manomet, MA, we are whistled at by an otter," he writes in the video's description of the video called "Why I otter." The video was uploaded about two weeks ago.
According to Southeast District Supervisor Jason Zimmerof the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, otters are native to Massachusetts and are "quite common (a lot more common than people think), but rarely observed.Β Along most significant rivers and streams and in ponds/lakes, evidence of them can be found regularly (scat/scent mounds, slides, etc.).
