Pay to Park by Phone

Park Plymouth will allow users of public lots to use cell phones to pay for spaces beginning July 10th.

Park Plymouth announced that beginning July 10, customers can pay for parking in Waterfront lots using their cell phone and Parkmobile’s native mobile applications for the iPhone, Android, Windows 7, and Blackberry smartphones.

To use the new pay by cell feature, customers simply download the Parkmobile app to their cell phones, or log into the parkmobile.com website, and register their user account information.  This free account allows customers to pay to park with their registered mobile phone immediately, and the download and free registration only takes a few minutes.

Customers may also pay by cell via the Parkmobile website, QR code, or call toll free, 1-877-727- 5717.  User account options include the ability to receive text message alerts and reminders for when parking is set to expire, and parking receipts are stored in your personal file every time you pay for parking.

For the time being, only waterfront lots are equipped with the pay by cell technology.  Each lot has a unique zone number that customers must enter along with their parking space number, in the mobile application.  Customers will find zone numbers posted on the large green signs hanging at the paystations.

"Parkmobile is very excited to launch our mobile payment parking service in Plymouth," said Albert Bogaard, CEO of Parkmobile USA, Inc.   “With this technology, customers no longer have to search for change at their destination.  Our mobile payment service is an example of another technology that can make our lives easier and more efficient.”

“Park Plymouth continues its commitment to improve your parking experience,” said Michele McCarthy, Director of Park Plymouth, “and this most recent upgrade reinforces that goal.  Pay by cell helps eliminate customer lines at the paystations, providing a level of quick service and convenience that people have come to expect in this age of new technologies.”

Customers will pay an additional charge of .35 cents per transaction to use the service.
