Pilgrim Festival Chorus Open Auditions at Welcome Nights

Rehearsals begin for Annelies, Whitbourn's choral work based on the Diary of Anne Frank

Pilgrim Festival Chorus (PFC), the region’s principal non-profit community choral group, invites singers throughout the region to join them for open auditions at two Welcome Nights. On Monday, January 12 and Monday, January 19, at 6:30 pm, Music Director William Richter welcomes newcomers of all skill levels to learn about PFC and audition for vocal placement, if they wish, at the Church of the Pilgrimage, 8 Town Square in Plymouth. The first rehearsals of the spring concert Annelies, a full-length choral work based on the Diary of Anne Frank, composed by James Whitbourn, immediately follow auditions from 7 to 9 pm.

PFC is an auditioned singing group for male and female vocalists of all skill levels, dedicated to the performance of choral music from many genres. With about 80 current members, the group is particularly seeking men’s voices this season, especially singers in the tenor vocal range¬¬. Celebrating their fifteenth season, PFC typically offers two major choral performances each year. Pilgrim Festival Singers, a PFC offshoot volunteer singing ensemble, performs an annual summer post-season concert of lighter music, and also engages in occasional appearances at local community events.

Rehearsals throughout the season are held on Monday nights from 7 to 9 pm, with some exceptions for holidays. Spring concert performances will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, April 12 at 4 pm at The Church of the Pilgrimage.
