Pilgrim Shut Down Due to Mechanical Problem
Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station was shut down this afternoon after a problem is detected in the plant's condenser.

Pilgrim Station operatorsΒ shutdown the plantΒ 1:11 p.m. due to reduced vacuum in the plant's condenser, according to an email from Entergy today.
Rob Williams of Entergy Nuclear said plant technicians are investigating the cause.
"The plant will be restarted after a thorough evaluation of the shutdown is conducted and any necessary repairs are made. Prior to the shutdown, the plant had been on line for more thanΒ four months."
