Planning Board Approves Auto Repair in Industrial Park
The petitioner next goes to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a special permit. No neighbors oppose the petition.

The Planning Board recommended the Zoning Board of Appeals approve a special permit to allow automotive repair in the Plymouth Industrial Park. The site lies within a half mile of Lou's Exhaust, an automotive repair facility in the industrial shop. One resident attended the public hearing, but there were no objections to the proposal.
The repair sites and the proposed dealership site occupy space close to the zone of contribution to the town's North Plymouth well. Town and state regulations require any potential pollutant to the well adopt a number of safeguards.
Some West Plymouth residents objected to a plan to site car dealerships on a section of the Colony Place shopping center. The developers of Colony Place put the plan on the warrant of Annual Town Meeting. The town's legislative body narrowly rejected the plan on a 2/3 vote because of the environmental concerns raised by the neighbors.

Last week, the Board of Selectmen decided that town officials had not done enough to support the article before Town Meeting and want the body to reconsider the article.
