Plymouth Beats Quincy/North Quincy In 2nd Round, 5-3

PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth North/South Girls Hockey team traveled to Bog Arena in Kingston on Monday Afternoon, to face the Quincy/North Quincy team in the 2nd Round of the Patriot Cup.

Plymouth was supposed to face Marshfield in the 1st Round, but Marshfield had to forfeit because there was a COVID close contact with one of the team members after their game against Scituate. The game had to be canceled and Plymouth advanced because of this. Quincy/North Quincy lost to Duxbury on Saturday, but they were the #1 and #2 seed in their divisions, so the losing team gets to advance to the second round while the winner gets to go to the Semifinals.

The Quincy/North Quincy had “home-ice” because they were the #2 seed and Plymouth was the #3 seed in the Fisher Division.

Quincy/North Quincy’s Maggie Lynch scored the first goal of the game with 11:30 left in the 1st period. Then in the next 5 minutes and 15 seconds Plymouth scored 2 goals by Ainsley Cronin and Molly Roy. In the 2nd period, Maggie Lynch of QNQ scored her second goal in the power play with nine minutes left in the period. In the 3rd period, Plymouth scored 3 goals including one by Maeve Campbell and power play goals by Anastacia Goslin and Cronin getting her second goal. QNQ’s Maggie Lynch got a hat trick, with her third period goal. Plymouth will end up winning 5-3 against QNQ.

Plymouth will now face Pembroke in the Semifinals at Gallo Arena in Buzzards Bay on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. The winner of that game will face the winner of Hingham/Duxbury in the finals in the Patriot Cup on Friday also at Gallo Arena.
