Plymouth County Farm Spring Festival
This free event attracted hundreds of families Saturday.
The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department staged a farm festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. As with any good multi-stage music festival, this spring festival offered sights, smells and activities.
Mark Wilson of Eyes On Owls presented a continuous owl show under a tent. Attendees became participants as they learned the call of owls small and large. Each adopted owl has a disability that keeps it from life in the wild.
The regular residents of the County Farm - goats, sheep, ponies, pigs and Mary the cow - greeted the crowd that had curiously, suddenly appeared outside their pens. A brood of newly hatched chicks in a shed received much attention.

Deputies fingerprinted and photographed children so their parents had photo identifications. On the porch next door artists painted faces and arms.
Two members of the county's new equestrian team, deputies atop, patrolled the perimeter. A tractor pulled a wagon for farm tours.
