Plymouth County Sheriff's K9 Unit Ends 2019 On Strong Note
Plymouth County Sherriff's Department K9 Lucky made the unit's 42nd location of the year last week.
PLYMOUTH, MA — The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department K9 Unit capped a strong year with a great find on when Lucky helped locate a man who Pembroke police said left the scene of a motor vehicle crash. It was the PCSD K9 Unit's 42nd location of 2019 - which doubled the 2018 total.
PCSD said Deputy Scott Sawler and his K9 partner Lucky responded to Pembroke on Dec. 27 to assist in searching for a man suspected of leaving the scene of an accident on foot. Lucky searched the area for 30 minutes before finding the suspect in a large wooded area approximately one-quarter mile from the crash. PCSD said the suspect was then taken into custody without incident.
"Some say it is better to be lucky than good. Although this may be true in some cases, we can confidently say that this K9 is both!" said the PCSD.
