A Manomet woman is dead and a man reportedly cut his femoral arterny and was rushed to Jordan Hospital late last night according to Plymouth Police.

Police responded to 7 Farmhurst Road for a well-being check requested by a family member at about 10:05 p.m. Monday. Officers standing in the doorway watched as a man in the living room picked up a circular saw and began sawing into his own leg. Officers immediately forced their way into the home and began giving the man first aid. An ambulance was called and the man was taken to Jordan Hospital where he died several hours later.

Officers noticed a foul smell as soon as they broke into the house. Searching the rooms, they found the body of woman and two dogs in a bedroom, apparently dead for about a week, investigators said.

Investigators said the woman had no apparent wounds and an autopsy is scheduled. Animal Control arrived Monday morning to take the bodies of the dogs.

According to neighbors, at least one body was removed last night. The house is a rental property owned by Timothy Moll, who was at the home this morning as police continued their investigation.
