Plymouth North Beats Quincy in First Round of Patriot Cup, 47-36

Plymouth North will now face Duxbury in the 2nd Round.

PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth North Blue Eagles Boys Basketball team faced the Quincy Presidents in the First Round of the Patriot Cup. Plymouth North was the #3 seed in the Keenan Division and Quincy was the #6 seed in the Fisher Division. This meant that Plymouth North had the home court in this game.

In the 1st half, Plymouth North won the coin toss, so they got the ball first. The game went back and forth between the teams as they kept switching leads during the half. In the 1st quarter, Quincy was leading 11-10 against Plymouth North. At the end of the first half, the game was tied, 20-20.

The 3rd quarter was just as tight and more of a defensive quarter as the first two quarters as Plymouth North scored 5 points and Quincy scored 6, to make Quincy leading 26-25 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Then, in the 4th quarter Plymouth North accelerated as they went on a 15-1 run in the quarter. Plymouth North scored 22 points in the 4th quarter. Quincy scored just 10 points in the quarter. The final score Plymouth North wins against Quincy, 47-36.

Senior Julian Llopiz led Plymouth North in scoring as he scored 20 in the game. Senior Cam Shaughnessy scored 12 points and sophomore Josh Campbell scored 10 points for the Blue Eagles.

Plymouth North will be moving on to the 2nd Round of the Patriot Cup and will be facing Duxbury on Sunday at 12 PM.
