Plymouth North Boys Basketball Beats Hanover, 53-36
Plymouth North's balanced team scoring led the team to victory and allowed the team to advance in the Patriot Cup.
PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth North Blue Eagles Boys Basketball team traveled to Hanover to face the Indians in the third round of the Patriot Cup in Boys Basketball on Tuesday Night. Plymouth North is coming off a win against Duxbury on Sunday in the second round. Hanover is coming off a loss against Hingham, which was a battle between the #1 and #2 seeds. Hingham is the #1 seed in the Fisher Division and Plymouth North is the #3 seed in the Keenan Division.
In the first half of the game, Plymouth North started the game on a 9-2 run, then Hanover went on a 9-3 run to slice Plymouth North’s lead to one point. At the end of the first quarter, Plymouth North led 16-11 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Plymouth North continued a 19-2 run that started in the first quarter and ended near the end of the second quarter when Hanover hit a three-pointer. At the end of the first half, Plymouth North led 31-16.
In the second half, Plymouth North slowed down their scoring by scoring their lowest two quarters in this half, 8 points in the third and 14 points in the fourth. The defense held the team’s lead however and Plymouth North would end up winning 53-36.

Plymouth North had a balanced scoring attack on the night. Seniors Cam Shaughnessy and Julian Llopiz led the team with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Juniors Jaymori Leonard scored 9 and sophomore Josh Campbell scored 7. A total of eight players scored for Plymouth North during the game. Andrew Rocci scored 13 and Jake Peterson scored 11 for Hanover.
Plymouth North will advance to the semifinals and travel to Whitman-Hanson for a game on Thursday at 1 p.m. If Plymouth North wins then they will travel to the winner of Hingham/North Quincy in the Championship game, which is on this Saturday.
