"Each of the past two years, weβve done over 500 people," Director of Elder Affairs Conni DiLego said. "There will be improved computer software this and new volunteers this year."
This year, more than 575 AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers have been trained in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue to assist taxpayers with the preparation of basic federal and state tax returns.Β They are well-versed in federal and state tax rules, including the βCircuit Breakerβ tax credit, which is available for Massachusetts property owners and renters who are 65 and older and meet certain criteria.
