Plymouth South Beats Silver Lake In Patriot Cup Opener, 69-38
Plymouth South will now move on to the 2nd Round to face Marshfield.
PLYMOUTH, MA- The Plymouth South Panthers Boys Basketball faced Silver Lake on Thursday night in the First Round of the Patriot Cup. Plymouth South was in 3rd place of the Fisher Division and Sliver Lake was in 6th place of the Keenan Division. Plymouth South having the higher seed of the two meant that they had home court.
In the 1st quarter, Sliver Lake started with the ball because they won the coin toss. Then, Plymouth South took off starting the game on a 7-0 run before Benjamin Lofstrom of Sliver Lake scored the first points making both free throws. At the end of the 1st quarter, Plymouth South was leading 20-6. The 2nd quarter was not much better for Sliver Lake as they only scored 7 points in the quarter. At halftime, Plymouth South was leading by the score of 43-13.
In the 2nd half, the scoring slowed down a little bit for Plymouth South only scored 17 in the 3rd quarter. Silver Lake scored 15 points in the 3rd, more than their total 1st half points. Plymouth South led 60-28 at the end of the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter Plymouth South only scored 9 points while Sliver Lake scored 8 points. The final score of the game is Plymouth South won 69-38.

Sophomore Declan Davis led the scoring for Plymouth South with 18 points. Lofstrom and Mike O’Brien both led the scoring for Sliver Lake scored 15 and 11 points respectively, according to Old Colony Memorial.
Silver Lake ended their basketball season with a winless record. Plymouth South will advance to the 2nd round in which they will face Marshfield on Sunday at 1 PM.
