Plymouth South-Plymouth North Set For Thanksgiving Football Clash

Both high schools ramped up the excitement ahead of Thursday's game between Super Bowl-bound Plymouth South and Plymouth North.

PLYMOUTH, MA — History may be on Plymouth North's side, but Plymouth South will be riding a wave of Super Bowl momentum Thursday morning when the schools renew their quarter-century Thanksgiving Day football rivalry at 10 a.m. at Plymouth South. Plymouth South is looking forward to a Division 3 Super Bowl clash against Melrose at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 7. But, first, the Panthers are preparing to put their 10-1 record on the line against Plymouth North.

PS's only loss of the season came in the first game of the season against Chicopee Comprehensive as the Panthers have since won 10 straight games. The Panthers advanced to the Super Bowl with a 26-14 victory against Tantasqua on Nov. 23.

Plymouth North enters the game at 4-6 on the season, but with a 19-6 lead in the all-time series that dates back to when the schools separated their athletic programs in 1994.
