Plymouth South Sports Roundup

Plymouth South's hockey and basketball teams all had wins this past week, and a young Panthers' wrestling team finished the season with a strong performance at the Division I sectional tournament.

The Plymouth South wrestling team finished fourth last weekend at the Division I sectional tournament at Durfee High School.  The team finished its season with an 18-6 record. According to head coach Marc Loranger this year’s team had 11 rookie varsity wrestlers, making it the youngest Plymouth South wrestling team in 17 years. 

The Plymouth South girls’ basketball team lost to Marshfield High School 66-38 in an away game  Feb. 3. The Panthers rebounded this past Tuesday evening in an away contest against Sandwich, winning by the score of 63-58. Plymouth South’s next game will be Friday at home against Nauset.

Marshfield crushed Plymouth South boys’ basketball Feb. 3 70-47.  The Panthers are 0-2 this season against the 12-2 Rams. Plymouth South bounced back  Tuesday with a 60-43 win over the Sandwich Knights.  However a 50-42 loss against Silver Lake on Wednesday dropped the Panthers’ record to 6-12.  Plymouth South will play at Nauset this Friday.

 The Plymouth South hockey team beat Marshfield 5-4 Feb. 4. Wednesday the team defeated Plymouth North Wednesday 6-2, improving to 10-5-1 overall.  Plymouth South’s next game will be home Feb. 16 against Nauset.
