Police Nab Three Plymouth Residents in Connection With Hingham House Break
Police say a Plymouth man and two sisters went around to South Shore homes and pretended to be a landscaping company. When the residents did not answer, they robbed the homes, one of which was in Hingham.
A lengthy investigation led by police detectives is connecting three Plymouth suspects to a July house break in Hingham.
Police arrested and charged Robert E. Hudson Jr., 23 of 82 Perserverance Path, Plymouth and twin sisters Brittney L. Sullivan and Ashley A. Sullivan, each 21 of 17 Briggs Ave., Plymouth with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny from a building and conspiracy.
Police believe Hudson along with the Sullivan twins entered a Hingham home back on July 30 by pushing a screen in on a side of the house that was not visible from the street. They escaped with a laptop and jewelry, including a class ring, a diamond ring and pocket watch.

Hingham Police Sgt. Steven Dearth said the trio specifically selected a home without a garage, because a garage may house a car and someone may actually be home.
Police said Hudson would knock on the door with a “landscaping folder” in his hand for the purpose of using the excuse that he was offering landscape services if someone answered the door.

“If no one answered the door Hudson would walk around the side or rear of the house and break in,” Dearth said.
Police said Hudson would also carry a backpack to carry the stolen items away. One of the sisters would stand near the street, being visible to anyone who answered the front door, while the other sister would drive the vehicle.
“Their reasoning is to help give the appearance of being a legitimate 'landscape company' in case someone answered the door,” Dearth said.
During the July break-in, police said they parked in the nearby Hingham Public Library parking lot to attract less attention and to avoid having their vehicle noticed as they left.
Police said the suspects were arrested after a lengthy investigation which was led by Hingham Detective Phillip Emmott with the assistance of detectives from Cohasset, Duxbury, Middleboro, Plymouth and State Police. The investigation included communication and cooperation from Detectives from several police agencies.
Dearth said the suspects’ information came about as the result of a traffic stop made on August 10 on Route 3 in Kingston by the State Police. During that traffic stop the three occupants, twin sisters and a man, were arrested on outstanding unrelated warrants, police said.
During that arrest, State Police discovered numerous pieces of jewelry suspected of being stolen and State Police investigators learned that the suspects may have been involved in several house breaks, police said. Detective Emmott interviewed two of the suspects who were being held in jail on unrelated charges. The third suspect had already been released from jail.
Police were also able to recover the diamond ring which was resold by a Middleboro pawn shop.
The investigation is ongoing as to tracking down some of the other jewelry such as the wedding and class ring, Dearth said.
According to Hingham Police, court dates for the three were not available. Hudson was being held at the Plymouth County House of Correction. Brittney Sullivan was being held at MCI Frammingham. Ashley Sullivan was arrested on the Hingham warrant by Plymouth Detectives at her home on September 30. Her bail status was not available.
