Rockland Husband Stabbed Wife, 'Watched Her Die'
Richard Langley on Thursday was sentenced for murdering his wife in 2014.

ROCKLAND, MA β A Rockland man will spend the rest of his life in prison after admitting to stabbing his wife and βwatching her dieβ in the driveway of their home.
Richard Langley, 57, stabbed his wife, Patricia, six times on June 11, 2014 at their home at 189 Moncrief Rd.
βHe brutally murdered his wife and then watched her die in the driveway of their home,β Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a statement.

Judge C.J. Moriarty on ThursdayΒ sentenced Langley to serve life in prison.
Cruz said horrified neighbors witnessed the attack and rushed to her aid, frantically using towels to stop the bleeding. She was rushed to South Shore Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

βThis was a vicious crime,β Cruz said. βFamily members have endured the gruesome details of the senseless, brutal murder of their mother at the hands of their father. I hope that over time, Mr. Langleyβs decision to spend his life in prison will help bring some closure to them.β
