Senate President Murray Welcomes Second Graders from Hedge Elementary School

Hedge School students get a tour of the State House from Senator Murray.

Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) gave second graders a warm welcome to the historical State House on Memorial Day.

Accompanied by their teacher, Eileen Gallerani and several chaperones, students asked Murray questions about her first job and what it’s like to serve as Senate President.

β€œIt is a pleasure to have students of all ages in my office,” Murray said. β€œI was quite impressed by their questions and knowledge. They are inspiring and I have absolutely no doubt that they are on the path to a bright future.”

The students’ teacher, Gallerani, said: β€œThe kids loved being under the Golden Dome and meeting the Senate President again and learning about the history of the State House.”

President Murray participated in Hedge’s 100th Anniversary celebration last October and the school’s Reading Across America event in March.
