South Shore Conservatory's Concert Series Presents Holiday Music from the Movies
SSC's faculty members bring the holiday season to life
South Shore Conservatory (SSC) faculty members bring the spirit of the season to life in a concert event featuring music from holiday movies on Sunday, December 13, 4 pm at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham. Holiday Music from the Movies is the third performance in SSC’s renowned Conservatory Concert Series (CCS) 2015/16 season.
CCS concerts feature the extraordinary talents of the Conservatory’s faculty of almost 100 teachers. The series is generously sponsored in part by Boston Private. Admission to the concert is free, advancing SSC’s mission of expanding access to arts education and performance.
SSC concert coordinator Sarah Troxler has brought together a fantastic group of talented SSC faculty members eager to share the very music that brighten everyone’s holiday season. Selections include favorites from such movies as White Christmas, Home Alone, and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Whether it’s a tune from your favorite childhood movie or a contemporary classic, there’s something for everyone in the family.

The concert ends with a traditional carol sing-along that will surely leave the audience in the holiday mood. Following the performance, the audience is invited to stay, enjoy free refreshments, and visit with the musicians to learn more about them.
Featured faculty members include Sarah Troxler, piano, Amanda Roberts and Katherine Roussopoulos, violin, Cassie Sulbaran, viola, Holly Marshall, soprano, Mark Leuning, tenor, and Sassan Haghighi, cello.

Remaining concerts in the series include Love Songs in February, Made in American in March, and Schubertiade: The Music of Franz Schubert in April.

South Shore Conservatory, (SSC) has been providing access to and enriching the lives of South Shore residents through music and the arts for 45 years.
