South Shore Conservatory's Concert Series Presents Made in America
The evolution of American Roots that has shaped contemporary music

South Shore Conservatory’s renowned Conservatory Concert Series (CCS) proudly presents Made in America, on Sunday, February 8, 4 pm at SSC’s Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury, and on Sunday, February 15, 4 pm at One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. This CCS program features the music that originates from American roots, as the foundation for all homeland music to follow.
The Conservatory Concert Series is generously sponsored by Boston Private Bank & Trust Company. Thanks to their support, admission to the concerts is free, advancing the Conservatory’s mission of expanding access to arts education and performance. CCS features the extraordinary talent of the Conservatory’s faculty.
As diverse as the cultural melting pot of America itself, American Roots music has seen an evolution that has influenced all contemporary music produced today. Made in America features tunes from Appalachian Mountain settlers, to Bill Monroe, to Hank Williams, as well as music from today’s contemporary roots and country artists. Talented SSC faculty performers also offer their own original compositions in the style of the repertoire at hand, rounding out an original, unique experience for the concert goer.
