South Shore Conservatory's Duxbury Music Festival Presents Fall Preview Concert

Featuring the music of Edward Longstaff, Georges Auric, Christopher Norton, and Michel Legrand

South Shore Conservatory presents a special Duxbury Music Festival (DMF) fall preview concert on Sunday, October 25 at 4:30 pm. Leaves of Music to Color a Fall Afternoon, held at the Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street in Duxbury. A wine and cheese reception follows the performance.

Audience members will experience magnificent chamber music in a small and intimate setting, which is the hallmark of DMF’s popularity. Leaves of Music to Color a Fall Afternoon features woodwind chamber music and songs of Michel Legrand. While away an autumn afternoon with Duxbury Music Festival and South Shore Conservatory faculties as they explore the pathos of mythical Greece, the charm and effervescence of woodwind chamber music written by a member of Les Six, a jazz-influenced piano trio of New Zealander Christopher Norton, and a wonderfully eclectic selection of songs of Michel Legrand and Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

Duxbury Music Festival (DMF), entering its 11th season, is a celebrated program for solo and chamber instrumental performance unique to all of New England. Founded with the knowledge that music enriches the human spirit and upon the belief that this enrichment endures, DMF is an intensive program of chamber music, bringing world-renowned pedagogues and performers and aspiring young artists together in one of New England’s most beautiful bayside villages, thirty-five miles south of Boston and twenty miles north of Cape Cod. About South Shore Conservatory

South Shore Conservatory, recently recognized as a national model for arts education by the National Guild for Community Arts Education, is celebrating nearly 45 years of enriching the lives of South Shore residents through music and the arts. SSC was founded as a not-for-profit community music school in 1970 and now has two beautiful campuses in Hingham and Duxbury.
