The Spire Center for Performing Arts Presents An Evening with Sugar Ray and the Bluetones

Legendary Band with 8 Blues Nominations in 2015 to perform in Plymouth

The Spire Center for Performing Arts, the entertainment mecca of Plymouth, presents legendary blues sensation An Evening with Sugar Ray and the Bluetones on Friday, February 13 at 8 pm, at Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth.

Playing their unique style of blues the world over for almost forty years, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones trademark sound blends Chicago Blues in the style of Muddy Waters, Kansas City Swing in the style of “Big” Joe Turner; Texas Blues like “T” Bone Walker; and the swampy Louisiana sounds of “Lazy” Lester. Distinctive originality astounds from the talents band leader Sugar Ray Norcia, vocals and harmonica, guitarist “Monster” Mike Welch, Anthony Geraci at the piano, Michael “Mudcat” Ward playing acoustic and electric bass, and drummer Neil Gouvin.

In 2015 alone, Sugar Ray and the Bluetones are basking in national recognition for their latest CD Living Tear To Tear, which debuted at #1 on the Living Blues radio chart, maintaining a top 20 position ever since. Sugar Ray Norcia was was nominated for a Grammy® in 2014 for Remembering Little Walter. Memphis Based Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Awards currently honor the band with seven award nominations, more than any other band or artist. Most recent the group was nominated for Blues Band of the Year from the New England Music Awards. Sugar Ray and the Bluetones toured Europe four times in the last year alone, and performed at countless festivals throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Tickets for An Evening with Sugar Ray and the Bluetones are $15. Tickets are now available, advance purchase is recommended, seating is limited to capacity.
