Spire Center Presents Laszlo Gardony Group
Legendary jazz musicians perform new album live
The Spire Center is pleased to welcome the Laszlo Gardony Group to the Spire stage, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth, on Saturday, September 12, at 8 pm. The Laszlo Gardony Sextet’s new live album, “Life In Real Time” (Sunnyside) features a stellar group of musicians; the quartet performing features four of the six musicians from the CD: Laszlo Gardony (piano, composer, arranger), the legendary saxophonist, Bill Pierce (former Art Blakey Jazz Messenger), John Lockwood (bass), and Yoron Israel (drums).
Gardony has been praised for his “fluid pianism” by The New York Times and for his “uniformly high quality of compositions” by All About Jazz Magazine. JazzTimes has called him “one of contemporary music’s truly original voices” and “a formidable soloist who lives in the moment.” Laszlo has been living in Boston for the past twenty five years, where he is a Professor of Piano at Berklee College of Music.
Tickets for the show are $20; advance purchase is recommended, seating is limited to capacity. The Spire is handicap accessible, public parking is available streetside, and in public lots near the venue. The Greater Plymouth Performing Arts Center, Inc.
