SSC Community Voices Choruses Present Spring Concert

South Shore Conservatory's adult ensembles for individuals with developmental delays present tunes from stage, film and television

South Shore Conservatory’s SSC Community Voices and SSC Community Voices Too! present a spring concert on Sunday, May 17, 4 pm at South Shore Conservatory’s Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 Saint George Street, Duxbury. Both choruses are adult ensembles for individuals with developmental delays serving the South Shore area.

SSC Community Voices and SSC Community Voices Too! are non-auditioned choruses that provide joyful ensemble singing and performance opportunities to over 30 adults and young adults with developmental delays. Directed by Eve Montague and Amanda Goff, accompanied by Karen Ji, SSC Community Voices begins their seventh season this September. The popular Duxbury-based original ensemble prompted expansion to second Hingham-based group “Too!” in 2012, directed by Emily Browder Melville and Kari O’Briant, and accompanied by Jennifer Boyd. Both ensembles begin their next session in September and welcome new singers and peer mentors.

The concert features repertoire performing repertoire with a stage, film, and television theme. The program offers popular tunes including Fiddler On The Roof, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Day By Day, and Can’t Help Falling In Love, Singing in the Rain, When You Wish Upon A Star, Do Re Mi and Happy.

The concert is free and open to the public. Audience members are invited to join the chorus members for a complimentary reception following the concert.
