State Redistricting Proposal Shifts South Plymouth
A chunk of South Plymouth would be moved out of First Plymouth (Rep. Vinny deMacedo's district) and into the Fifth Barnstable district under the proposed redistricting of the House voting districts.
The state Legislature has two and a half weeks to get the proposed legislative districts approved. The new Congressional districts have yet to be unveiled.Β
The new House districts reflect few changes on the South Shore, but a chunk of South Plymouth will be moved from the First Plymouth district to the Fifth Barnstable district. The First Plymouth is currently represented by Vinny deMacedo, R-Plymouth. North Plymouth and part of West Plymouth is represented by Tom Calter, D-Kingston in the 12th Plymouth district.
The Plymouth Barnstable Senate District, currently represented by Senate President Therese Murray, does not appear to have any changes.
