The city of New Bedford welcomes home the Charles W. Morgan, the oldest commercial
ship still afloat and the last wooden whale ship in the world. The Morgan
launched from New Bedford in 1841 and will return to the nation’s most iconic
whaling city on June 28. The city will celebration with several days of
celebrations and activities to honor its history as well as shine a light of
the charming city of today, with its working waterfront, rising culinary scene,
stunning architecture, and thriving community.
