Robert McNeil, of Pembroke, was charged with 10 counts of indecent assault against an elderly person.

PLYMOUTH, MA — A former van driver was indicted this week on charges he fondled a half-dozen elderly women over a four-year period in Plymouth and surrounding communities. Robert McNeil, 57, of Pembroke, was charged with 10 counts of indecent assault against an elderly person, according to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz.

McNeil drove for CareWell Adult Day Wellness Center in Norwell. Cruz said he "inappropriately touched" the women between November 2013 and July 2016. The women aged in range from 60 to 80.

"McNeil allegedly targeted clients that were alone and dropped off last along his transportation route and the investigation found the incidents occurred in Plymouth, Hanson, and Norwell," Cruz said in a statement.

McNeil is out on bail pending an arraignment. An indictment means a grand jury determined a trial is warranted based on evidence in a case.
