Watch 'Freeze Pilgrim' Forum Online

Plymouth's town-appointed Nuclear Matters Committee and the people who initiated the "Freeze Pilgrim" Ballot Question have designed the forum inform Plymouth voters of arguments both in favor of the ballot question and opposed to it.

Wedge Bramhall and Ted Bosen of Plymouth, proponents of the plan, will be present, as will Arnie Gunderson who will speak in favor of the question. Representatives, also of Plymouth, will speak in opposition to the ballot question, a copy of which will be distributed to all attendees. The event will be broadcast on PACTV's government channel and there may also be arrangements made to have it broadcast on WATD. Also present will be several members of the town's Nuclear Matters Committee with expertise on related issues.

Most of the two-hour session will be devoted to a Question and Answer period during which Plymouth voters may ask questions of the panelists which need not be submitted in advance. Anyone who wishes to do so, however, may submit questions in advance to the Town Manager's Office (Melissa Arrighi). Such questions will be addressed in order of their receipt, in the time allotted for presubmitted questions.

Ballot Question:
The nonbinding ballot question reads: "We The People of Plymouth, Massachusetts, direct the Plymouth Board of Selectmen to call upon the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to immediately suspend all further action on the application of the Entergy Corporation for renewal of its license to operate the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station pending the full implementation of all safety improvements recommended by the NRC as a result of lessons learned from the failures of similarly designed reactors in Fukushima, Japan.
