2 Weymouth Men Killed In Quincy Crash

Two people are dead after a car crashed into the Neponset River Bridge in Quincy, State Police said.

QUINCY, MA — Two people are dead after a car crashed into the Neponset River Bridge in Quincy Thursday morning, State Police said. The single-vehicle crash happened around 10:40 a.m. on the Hancock Street ramp to the bridge.

According to police, the driver, a 74-year-old Weymouth was driving on Hancock Street toward Newport Avenue when his 2004 Ford Taurus veered off the side of the road and crashed into the bridge abutment under the Neponset River Bridge.

Both the driver and his passenger, a 50-year-old Weymouth man, were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims are being withheld until State Police can notify the families.
