QUINCY, MA —If you are a Quincy resident looking to get rid of hazardous waste, the wait is almost over.
The city has set its hazardous waste drop-off day for Oct. 10. Residents will be able to drop off waste at the Department of Public Works, 55 Sea St., between 10 a.m. and noon.
This year, accepted items include antifreeze, art supplies, brake fluid, car wax, lighter fluid, fiberglass resin, metal polish, mothballs, spot remover, model glue, photo chemicals and much more.
A complete list of accepted items can be found online.
While the event is free, proof of residency with a Massachusetts driver's license will be required.
Free paper shredding will also be provided, and cardboard and paper clips will be accepted.
Items must be placed in their original containers and packed in sturdy, upright boxes. The city is urging residents not to bring children with them when dropping off materials.
Only Quincy residents will be allowed to drop off waste.
