QUINCY, MA — Quincy residents have a new place to explore, make memories and honor the legacy of a local pilot.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, the Marshall family, along with students and teachers from Clifford Marshall School, celebrated the opening of Aviation Park.
Located at 200 Moody Street Extension, outside Clifford Marshall School, the new park offers families a place to gather, play and enjoy the outdoors.
The park is named in honor of pilot Michael J. Marshall Jr., celebrating his life and passion for aviation. It also serves as a place where children can dream big, explore and reach new heights.
During the opening ceremony, Michael Marshall Sr. paid tribute to his son, according to a social media post by the city of Quincy.
At the park's entrance, a special tribute to Marshall reads:
"May his spirit of flight inspire every child who plays here to climb, explore, reach new heights and find their own wings."
