2 Face Armed Robbery Charges At Quincy Star Market
A loss prevention employee was hit with a suspect's bag while trying to apprehend them, police said.
QUINCY, MA — Two people were arrested after police said they tried to steal shampoo and other beauty products from a Star Market.
Byron Bell, 55, of Quincy, and Cherry Clayton, 47, of Boston, were charged with armed robbery. Bell was also charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, while Clayton was charged with giving false information to police.
Around 11 a.m., police were called to the Star Market at Granite Street for a report of two people trying to steal shampoo, and other health and beauty products. Police said that when a loss prevention employee tried to stop the suspects, Clayton hit him with a bag filled with the merchandise the suspects tried stealing.

The suspects ran away and left the bag behind, but police said they arrested them nearby on Granite Street shortly after. Police said they found a knife on Bell. According to police, Clayton originally gave officers a fake name, telling them her name was Linda.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday.
