City Of Quincy Earns 2026 Mass Save Impact Award

QUINCY, MA — The City of Quincy is being recognized for its efforts to reduce energy use and support Massachusetts’ clean energy future, a news release from award sponsors said Monday.

On Monday, the city received a 2026 Mass Save Impact Award. The honor recognizes leadership in energy efficiency, electrification and other initiatives helping shape a more sustainable and resilient commonwealth.

Quincy was one of 17 recipients from across the state to receive the award. The city will be honored at a ceremony at the Massachusetts State House on Oct. 27.

This year’s winners include municipalities, health care providers, educational institutions, retailers and nonprofits.

At the ceremony, Quincy will be joined by other recipients, including the City of Cambridge, the City of Fall River, Lowell General Hospital, Gordon College, the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Bay State Linen.

Over the past year, the City of Quincy has completed more than 100 projects in schools, libraries, fire stations and other facilities to reduce energy use.

The city achieved natural gas savings by upgrading its building management systems, improving lighting and installing heat pumps.
