QUINCY, MA — The former treasurer of the Beechwood Knoll Elementary School PTO faces charges that she used funds from the group for personal use.
Police allege that Jennifer Travers stole over $28,000 between June 2012 and March, when a new treasure took over.
The Patriot Ledger reports that Travers was hesitant to give current PTO officers the group's account information and only relented when she met incoming treasurer Matthew Nelson at the bank in Mark and he refused to leave without the account information.

Nelson told police that he found several transactions that had nothing to do with the PTO, including cash withdrawals at Disneyland, $900 to a mechanic in New York, and $204 for tickets to Pippin at the Boston Opera House.
Travers told police that she accidentally used the PTO debit card instead of her personal card. The money in the account has since been moved to a new one.
