Irish Man in Quincy Faces Deportation

The man, identified as a Co Galway​ native, was arrested following a raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement​ last Wednesday.

QUINCY, MA — An allegedly undocumented Irish man who was living in Quincy was placed in custody last week.

The man, identified as a Co Galway native, was arrested following a raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement last Wednesday, according to Irish network RTE. Another man from Co Fermanagh was released pending the outcome of his visa application.

The man who remains in custody is imprisoned in the Suffolk County House of Correction. He was scheduled to face charges including drunken driving.

The man could remain in prison until his deportation is scheduled. His family is receiving assistance from the Irish Consulate in Boston, RTE learned.
